Royal Institute of Technology seeks postdoc in numerical analysis

job description

apply here:

A two-year postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Mathematics. The research project focuses on the development of computational methods for efficiently modeling the dynamics of many bubbles in two-phase flow simulations. Microbubble simulations are one example. For example, microbubbles can be used to deliver drugs to desired locations in the body. We will develop a surrogate model that can be used to efficiently scale the simulation from a few drops to thousands of drops. The project covers theory, method development, implementation and simulation.

offer requirements

PhD or equivalent foreign degree required. This qualification must be met at the time of the hiring decision. Proficiency in at least one of the programming languages Matlab, Fortran, Python, Julia, or C++. Extensive knowledge and experience in developing and analyzing numerical methods for differential equations. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, as daily work requires the use of English. Preferred Qualifications PhD or equivalent foreign degree obtained within three years prior to the application deadline. Research expertise in numerical analysis is the most important selection criterion and should be demonstrated through scientific publications/PhD thesis. Knowledge and experience in the development of model reduction or machine learning.
