Would you like to take the first step towards a PhD and launch an exciting career? As our PhD candidate, you will work towards your doctoral degree while gaining valuable experience that will qualify you to continue your career in higher education and research both inside and outside of academia. The position is part of the project “Multiplicative Analysis” funded by the Research Council of Norway through its Breakthrough Research Initiative (FRIPRO). The project is implemented by the Analysis Group in the Department of Mathematical Sciences.Ole Fredrik Brevig is the principal investigator of the project and will be the main supervisor of the PhD students. The successful candidate is expected to take up his/her position in August/September 2025. Multiplicative analysis involves the systematic study of Dirichlet columns from the point of view of modern operator correlation function theory, which is at the intersection of complex analysis, operator theory and analytic number theory. The main goal of the research project is to address the problem of enhancing the interaction between these different branches of analysis using tools such as multiplicative chaos, Riemannian zeta function resonance, almost periodicity and infinite dimensional harmonic analysis.
