We are looking for an ambitious and inquisitive researcher who meets the following criteria:

* Holds or is about to complete a Master’s Degree in Health Economics, Econometrics, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics/Statistics, Systems Engineering, or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

* Technical expertise: proficiency in programming languages such as R or Python and strong skills in mathematical modeling and simulation.

* Familiarity with the challenges and dynamics of healthcare systems and/or mastery of simulation techniques, including agent-based simulation, discrete event simulation, and system dynamics.

* Interdisciplinary Collaboration: ability to thrive in an interdisciplinary environment, demonstrating strong teamwork and adaptability.

* COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Communicate effectively and be fluent in English. Fluency in Dutch is desirable but not essential.

A 4-year PhD position (at least 0.8 FTE) with a qualification in the first year and the flexibility to (partly) work from home. * The gross monthly salary is €2,901 in the first year, increasing annually and reaching €3,707 in the fourth year.
